In some cases minors should be tried as adults in accordance with EU regulations. 2. Parents of juvenile offenders should be held accountable for their children s offenses in EU. 3. More children with bad conduct should be included in extracurricular activities in school than those with exemplary conduct as a practice of services in EU countries. Teacher Midhat Ĉaušević greeted the participants
on behalf of the school. Nadina Balagić, CCD representative, also greeted the participants, wished them luck during the competition and introduced them to the plan for the competition. The topics which were distributed to the participants a month earlier were presented and the competition began. 10.15. 11.30 Workshop: Research for the debate, brainstorming and creating argumentation line During this workshop the part of research material was presented, which belonged to the team 1 od Behrambegova medresa from Tuzla. The material clearly stated the arguments which will be used (the arguments were not presented so other teams would not use the same arguments) with text which was used as a warrant. The source of the warrant was clearly stated. This material was used as an example of well prepared research material. Then the other research materials were analyzed. Edin Ahmetspahić Remarkable things (quotes, publicity of the event, impact on participants or public, reception, etc): After the competition, a short informal gathering with participants was held. During this gathering, the participants pointed out that debate competition is a unique event during which all participants can state their argumentative attitudes free from judgments. It is also very important that two topics: juvenile delinquency and EU, were bind together as a whole, within which debaters researched both at the same time. These competitions should be continued because they enable the debaters from one region to meet each other and, more importantly, exchange debate experience and knowledge. Lessons learned (if any): Research is the basis for creation of arguments, and arguments are foundations of the debate. All participants were introduced to the basics of research before the competition, but during the workshop in the Event, they learned how to create a well rounded research material and how to use the collected information to create arguments in the best way.
