Unfortunately, in our contemporary world there is a great disregard for the gift of human life. We are faced with the issues of abortion, assisted suicide, murders, the death penalty, human trafficking, etc. Obviously, no one of us can solve these major problems, but we can do two things: 1. Pray for an increased respect for human life at all stages and 2. Make a difference in one or more situations such as, for example, providing help and support for a pregnant woman who feels helpless, or a sick or elderly person who feels forgotten or unwanted. Our loving concern can make a big difference. IGNITE This coming Tuesday evening at 7:00 we will have our monthly Ignite gathering for Adoration, prayer, praise, and reconciliation. All are welcome. LIVING ROSARY Next Saturday at 4:00 p.m. we will gather at the Shrine for the Living Rosary before the 5:00 Mass. All are welcome. Fr. Donations Accepted - ROOM FOR THE RESTLESS God has blessed our parish with many little children who are restless from time to time. As a result, some parishioners find it difficult to be attentive to the Mass prayers and preaching. Parents also find themselves in an awkward situation. For these reasons I m reopening what we traditionally called the Crying Room effective immediately. As I do so, I want to clarify that this room is for the sole use of parents with young restless children. This room is not be used by anyone without little ones. It is my hope that this will provide parents a space as needed and thereby provide a less distracting environment for others during Mass. - Nuestra Santísima Madre y su Santo Rosario. Este evento se lleva a cabo al aire libre, en el estacionamiento frente al santuario de Nuestra Señora de Fátima. Se requerirán cubreboca y se observará distanciamiento social. Para crear este hermoso homenaje a Nuestra Señora, pedimos la participación de al menos 60 personas. Cada voluntario representará una cuenta y se colocará en forma de rosario. Una persona sostendrá un micrófono y se moverá a través del "rosario humano". Esta es una oración muy poderosa y una experiencia maravillosa! Our Blessed Mother and her Holy Rosary. The month of October is dedicated to our Blessed Mother and her Holy Rosary. On October the 9th at 4pm, the community of St. Mary's will be hosting our 2nd annual "Living Rosary". This event is held outdoors, in the parking lot in front of Our Lady of Fatima's shrine. Masks will be required and social distancing will be observed. To create this beautiful homage to Our Lady, we are asking for at least 60 people to participate. Each volunteer will represent a bead and be placed in the shape of a rosary. One person will hold a microphone and move through the "human rosary". This is a very powerful prayer and wonderful experience!! If you would like to be part of this "Human Rosary" please call Patty Liekhus at (714)-3567315. Families, friends and parishioners are welcome to join us. Bring your chairs and rosaries. This takes approximately 30-40 minutes. Saturday night Mass and "Bingo, Burgers and Brew" will follow. IGNITE Eucharistic Adoration is here at St. Mary s Parish on October 5th at 7:00 pm, in the church. We will have praise and worship music, and confessions will be available. Respect Life Message In regards to the U.S. House of Representatives Bill HR 3755, the misnamed Women's Health Protection Act of 2021, I support Archbishop Joseph Naumann of USCCB in his demand to lawmakers to reject this deceptively-named, extreme bill [that] would impose abortion on demand nationwide at any stage of pregnancy [and] eliminate modest and widely supported pro-life laws at every level of government. I therefore ask all Catholics in our country immediately to pray and fast for members of Congress to do the right thing and keep this atrocity from being enacted in the law.
