Hello St. Teresa of Calcutta parishioners, It would not be a typical week here at our parish unless we had changes coming from the Archdiocese regarding the guidelines and directives we are obliged to follow in dealing with the pandemic. It seems there is a change every other day, BUT, that means we are slowly moving back towards normalcy and that is a good thing and this week, we learned of some good changes. Beginning this week, churches are allowed to celebrate two Masses, per week, during the day. Since before COVID-19 we had daily Mass on Tuesdays and Thursdays; beginning Tuesday, June 16, and Thursday, June 18, we will again offer public Masses at our North Lake church at 8 am, with Adoration from 7:30 to 7:55 am. Mass continues on Monday and Wednesday, but via live streaming on YouTube. ALSO on Wednesday evenings the public is again invited to Adoration from 6:30-7:30 pm. Ackley (center), Superintendent of the North Lake School District (and parishioner), presented $1000 scholarship awards to Steven Knipfer (left) and Daniel Burant (right). Steve will be attending Marquette University and Daniel will be a student at MSOE. 10 Months Year-to-Date We annually recognize two candidates who have been in our Religious Education program every year from 1st grade through graduation. They must submit their transcripts, answer several questions about their faith and plans for the future. They also submit a personal essay. With names blocked out, the information is submitted to the scholarship committee, of which Dr. Ackley is a member, that reviews and determines the two top candidates. CONGRATULATIONS! UPDATE ON VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL Based on directives given to us by the Archdiocese, we will not be able to offer Vacation Bible School this summer. In-person VBS will not be allowed until we are in Phase Three of our Catholic Comeback guide. We are currently in Phase One with no indication of when we might enter into Phase Two or Three.
